The Belleville Public Library is proud to be hosting its 1st Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration on October 5th, 2019 from 12 pm to 3:30 pm.

The Belleville Public Library prides itself on celebrating the heritage of its residents while providing an educational and entertaining experience for those from other cultures. Through performances from the band Segunda Quimbamba, local Latin food trucks, and dance performances, we hope to connect with our residents during this celebration and share with them the soul-moving, rhythmic connection that Hispanic and Latin culture ties in with the celebration.

The Belleville Public Library proudly celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month on October 5, 2019 at 12:00pm.
Hispanic Heritage month is an opportunity for the entire community of Belleville to come together and really get to know more about each other’s culture and heritage.

Food trucks and live music provided by Afro-Latin drum band Segunda Quimbamba will take place on Academy street next to the Belleville Public Library.  Music is a vibrant part of Latin and Hispanic culture and has influenced music across the globe.  Segunda Quimbamba will share the influences and history of Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena music throughout the performance.

Dance is an integral part of this tradition and no performance would be complete without everyone getting up and moving to call of the music.  A dancer will lead the audience in this tradition and explain how dance and music intertwine and flow together while getting everyone up on their feet.

Join us at the Belleville Public Library as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month and welcome Segunda Quimbamba to the stage at the Belleville Public Library.
